The Challenge
Refurnishing and decorating an architecturally significant house calls for many careful considerations. Form and function should be respected, but modern family living requires new formats and flow. A challenge indeed for the Alaire project team.
The Briefing
Honoring the strong wood and pale stone of the building, the mood board was created with a modern and neutral palette. Subtle blue hues complement and showcase the artisanal tiling that makes this property so unique.
The Space
The spacious outdoor areas and stunning mature landscaping provide a wonderful backdrop for outdoor living.
A large poolside dining area under the roof enables all-day entertaining in the shade or by solar lanterns at night, while the sunroom continues the sense of outdoor living, whether open to the pool area in the summer or taking advantage of the winter sun on cooler days.
Design Elements
Incorporating a Balinese pagoda poolside brings a tropical warmth to this lounge area as well as some welcome shade. And the many outdoor nooks and shaded corners of this property have been carefully furnished to invite quiet moments of escape and contemplation.
The Outcome
The overall result of this Alaire design project respects the distinctive architecture of an important house, while breathing in new life and creating stylish comfort for sophisticated beachfront living.
